2 lamb shanks
2 14 1/2 oz. cans College Inn Beef Broth
1/4 c. Merlot wine
2 T. butter
1/8 tsp. tarragon
1/8 tsp. thyme
pepper to taste
1 bay leaf
flour or cornstarch to thicken
egg noodles

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in a saucepan large enough to hold the lamb shanks. Brown lamb on both sides. Add beef broth to cover, wine, seasonings and bay leaf. Simmer on low heat until meat begins to pull away from the bone. Remove lamb and bay leaf from pan. Increase heat and add flour or cornstarch, stirring constantly, until desired thickness. In a separate pan, boil noodles until tender. Place shanks on a bed of noodles. Spoon sauce over top and serve.

I use an old spice container to sprinkle flour into the broth. This eliminates lumps.
