3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon cloves
3/4 teaspoon cloves
confectioners sugar
Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º. Mix shortening, sugar, egg and molasses thoroughly. Blend dry ingredients; stir into shortening mixture. Form into 1 inch balls. Place about 2 inches apart on greased baking sheet. Bake 10-12 minutes. Roll in confectioners sugar while still warm.
