2 1/2 lbs. ground beef, cooked and drained
6 oz. catsup
8 oz. tomato sauce
2 T. sugar
1/4 c. green bell pepper, chopped
1 lg. onion, chopped
1/4 c. vinegar
1/4 c. mustard
Salt, pepper, and chili powder to taste.

Brown hamburger and drain well. Saute bell pepper and onion in a small amount of oil. Add all ingredients and simmer for about an hour. Add a little water if needed. Serve open faced with tomato and purple onion if desired.

We used to call this our FFA recipe for all the years that our boys were in FFA and we moms were in charge of feeding a hundred kids. Now I make it up for the hunters in the family. It is great at their campsites....or in the kitchen at home.
