2 1/2 lbs. ground beef (not too lean!)
1 1/2 lbs. ground pork
2 onions (chopped)
1 stick of butter
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 to 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
11 cloves or 1/2 to 1 tsp. ground cloves
Add enough water to cover meat.
Add Vermont crushed crackers or bread crumbs
( 1 1/2 cups?)

Cook the meat with seasonings and water on medium/low heat for a while until meat is cooked. Stir often. Add crushed crackers or bread crumbs toward to end. Keep stirring and turn to low heat. Add turkey drippings and adjust seasonings. Serve on the side.

An absolute must at Thanksgiving! Many variations in spices have been tried. Adjust seasonings to your personal taste. Vermont crackers work best. In older days Royal Lunch crackers were used.
