1 cup self-rising cornmeal
1/2 cup self-rising flour
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup grated Squash
1 egg beaten
2 tbs milk

Directions:
Directions:
Combine cornmeal and flour in mixing bowl; add onion and squash. Stir in egg and enough milk to make a stiff batter. Drop by spoonful's into hot fat. Fry until brown on all sides. Drain and serve.

We found this in Mom's recipe box. She enjoyed making these for the boys. Neal always had plenty of squash in the garden.
