1 lb. pea beans - soak overnight
3/4 lb. fresh salt pork
1/4 c. molasses
1/2 c. brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Boil salt pork and beans in water for about 2 hours. Test, if soft they are ready to bake. Add molasses and brown sugar. Drain juice and save one cup. Put bean mixture in baking pan, add leftover juice if needed. Score top of salt pork and put in center of beans with top showing. Cook in 350º oven for about 1 hour if you start with warm beans. If cold beans cook until you taste and they are done.
