Light part:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
2 light teaspoons baking powder
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 cup chopped pecans
1 teaspoon vanilla
Dark Part:
1/2 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
2 light teaspoons baking powder
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon cloves
1 cup raisins
Filling:
2 cups sugar
1 cup boiling water
1 grated coconut or frozen coconut
2 small lemons grated

Light Part:
Cream butter, sugar and eggs. Add baking powder to flour. Add milk and flour to mixture. Add pecans and vanilla. Divide and bake in two cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees 20 to 25 minutes or until done.
Dark Part:
Cream butter, sugar and eggs well. Add baking powder and spices to flour. Add milk and flour mixture and raisins. Bake in two cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes or until done.
Filling:
Add all ingredients together. When boiling add enough flour to thicken. Put between layers and on top of cake.
