Personal Notes:
I first made this soup Christmas 2008 in Boerne while in the midst of a "cooking frenzy"! I have always loved split pea soup but was always daunted by the whole "boil the ham hock and de-bone it" thing! This is so easy and it is delicious! I have since sent it to Summit Christian Academy for a "Teacher Appreciation" luncheon and it was a hit! My mother and I spent this past weekend (September 25-27, 2009) at the lake house in another "cooking frenzy" and this soup was first on the list! Hope you enjoy it even half as much as I do!
