1 c shortening
1 c granulated sugar
1 c firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1-3/4 c flour
1 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 c oats
1 c chocolate chips (opt)
1 c coconut (opt)
1 c nuts (opt)
1 c raisins (opt)

Cream shortening and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix. Add dry ingredients; mix. Drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet about 2" apart. Bake 350° for 12-15 minutes
