1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
3 tbsp. of cold water

Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour and baking powder into bowl. Cut in butter and cheese as for pie crust using a pastry blender or 2 knives. Add water and mix well.
Fill cookie press. Form straws on ungreased cookie sheets, using star plate no. 2. Cut into desired lengths. Bake 8-10 min. at 375º. Remove at once to cooling racks.

This is a recipe from Mrs. Woodard who would have them often when we would visit her. I am pretty sure Mama made them a time or two but I don't think she used a cookie press.? Anyway, they were yummy.
