1 C. salad oil or corn oil
3 eggs; well beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
1 C. chopped walnuts or pecans
1 tsp. baking soda
2 C. sugar
2 C. peeled & diced apples; any kind
3 C. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. rum flavoring

Directions:
Directions:
Cream oil and sugar together. Add well beaten eggs. Mix together well. Add apples & nuts. Sift together dry ingredients. Add alternately with rum & vanilla. Mix well. Bake in greased bundt cake pan at 325º for 1-11/2 hrs. Let cool.
--sauce for Apple Rum Cake--
1 stick butter or margarine
1/4 C. evaporated milk
1 C. maple syrup
2 tsp. rum flavoring
Heat butter & syrup together until butter is melted. Add milk, remove from heat & cool. Add rum flavoring & pour over cake. * use long pronged fork to make holes in cake and pour over & into cake slowly. ( I use a bar b q fork)!
