CAKE:
2 Sticks Butter
1 c. Water
4 tbsp. Cocoa
2 c. Sugar
2 c. Flour
1/2 tsp. Salt
2 Eggs, Beaten
1/4 c. Buttermilk
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Vanilla

ICING:
1 Stick Butter
6 tbsp. Milk
4 tbsp. Cocoa
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 Box Powdered Sugar
1 c. Walnuts, Chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º
Mix flour, sugar and salt together in large bowl. In a pan melt butter, cocoa and water and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and pour over flour mixture. Add eggs, buttermilk, baking soda and vanilla and beat until smooth. Pour into a greased jelly roll pan. Bake for 22 minutes.

ICING:
In a pan melt butter, cocoa, and milk together. Add powdered sugar, nuts and vanilla. Pour over HOT CAKE.

I know there are a lot of recipes out there for this Texas Sheet Cake. I still remember how popular Shirley's was at our church potluck events. Folks were not shy about asking her to make one for their birthdays or special occasions.
