Nut mixture:
1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/4 c. sugar
2 T. chopped walnuts
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Batter:
2/3 c. flour
1/4 c. cocoa
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. butter
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together nut mixture ingredients. Set aside. Preheat oven to 375º. Make batter: Cream sugar and butter. Add egg and vanilla, then milk. Mix in dry ingredients until smooth. Spoon 1 T. batter into muffin cups. Add 1 tsp. nut mixture. Spoon enough batter on top of nut mixture to cover it. Repeat for 12 cupcakes. Bake at 375º for 15-20 minutes. Remove from pan and cool.
