4 qt. medium cucumbers
1 1/2 c onions sliced
2 lg. cloves of garlic
1/2 c salt
1 to 2 quarts ice (2 trays)
4 1/2 c sugar
1 1/2 c tumeric
1 1/2 t celery seed
3 c clear distilled vinegar

Directions:
Wash cucumbers thoroughly using a vegetable brush and let drain. Slice unpeeled cucumbers into 1/8 to 1/4" slices. Add onions, garlic and salt. Cover with crushed ice. Mix thoroughly and allow to stand for 3 hours. Drain thoroughly and remove garlic. Combine sugar, spices, and vinegar in a pan and heat to a boil. Add cucumbers and onion slices and heat 5 minutes. Pack loosely into clear hot jars. Adjust jar lids and bands. Process in boiling water bath with water at 212º for 10 minutes.
