Cherry-Walnut Bars Recipe

2 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
2 eggs
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 (2 oz) jar maraschino cherries
1/2 c. walnuts

Mix three first ingredients until crumbly- press into 9x13 pan. Bake 350 degrees, 20 min. Blend eggs, sugar, salt, baking powder and vanilla. Drain and chop cherries, reserving liquid. Stir cherries and nuts into egg-sugar mixture and place on top of baked crust. Bake 25 min. Cool.

1 tbsp. soft butter
1c. powdered sugar
Cherry liquid
Combine butter and sugar with enough cherry liquid to spread.
