8 oz. (1 cup) short grain rice
10 oz. (1-1/4 cup) sugar
1 quart milk
Vanilla
1 cinnamon stick
cinnamon powder

Optional:

1-1/2 oz. sultanas (golden raisins)
3 Tbsp brandy

Directions:
Directions:
Put sultanas in a bowl and cover with brandy. Set aside.

In heavy saucepan, combine rice, sugar, and milk. Add a few drops of vanilla and the cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heat and continue to cook slowly. Stir occasionally to prevent rice from sticking to bottom of pan.
Once sultanas have soaked up the brandy, add to rice. Cook rice until done; remove cinnamon stick. Serve with cinnamon powder.
