4 c. tart apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. flour
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1/3 c. butter or margarine,
melted
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:

Mix apples with brown sugar and lemon juice. Arrange in shallow 9- by 9-inch baking pan. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt in bowl. Add egg, and cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit. Bake in 350º oven for 25-30 minutes, or until fruit is tender (apples may take a little longer). Serve warm. Makes 4-6 servings.
