Ingredients:  
Ingredients:  
1 lb. round steak, cut into small strips
2 T. oil
water (enough to make meat tender)
2 garlic cloves, while cooking
3 green peppers
2 med. onions, sliced thin
2 cans water chestnuts
mushrooms if desired

Sauce Ingredients:
2 T. cornstarch
1 1/4. c. water
1/3 c. soy sauce
1/2 c. Karo syrup
1/2 tsp. red pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Cook meat in oil and water until tender. Add garlic clove while cooking. Add green peppers and onion after meat is done. Add can of water chestnuts. Add mushroom if desired.
Sauce - Mix cornstarch, water, soy sauce, Karo syrup, and red pepper. Pour this sauce mixture over meat and vegetables. Bring to a slow boil until sauce thickens and begins to look clear. Cover with lid and let set a few minutes. Serve over hot rice.
