Cranberry Bread Recipe

2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
Juice & grated rind of 1 orange
2 T. shortening
1 beaten egg
1 c. chopped, raw cranberries
1 c. nuts

Mix flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, sugar and vanilla. Add rind & juice of orange. Put shortening in measuring cup and add boiling water to equal 3/4 c. Add to mixture. Add beaten egg, cranberries and nuts. Mix well. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hr. in greased & floured loaf pan.
