2 c flour
1/4 c vegetable shortening
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2/3 c whole milk
1/4 c powdered sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
veg. oil for frying

Directions:
Directions:
in bowl, w/ fork mix flour, shortening, b. powdered, & salt to resemble coarse crumbs. Add milk, stir until dough holds together. Turn on lightly floured surface & knead until smooth about 3 min.
With a floured rolling pin, roll half of dough into 12 by 9 inches cut into 12- 3x 3 squares. Repeat w/ remaining dough. In cup mix sugar & cinnamon; set aside. In 10 inch skillet heat 1 inch oil over medium high heat to 400º. Fry 4 squares at a time, turn w/ slotted spoon as soon as they rise to the surface & then turning 2-3 times until golden & puffed. Drain squares on paper towels. Sprinkle warm puffs with sugar mixture & serve.
