3/4 c. butter, softened
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. plus 2 tablespoons strawberry jam
3 1/3 c. all-purpose flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
3/4 tsp. each ground allspice, cloves, and cinnamon
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 3/4 c. raisins
3/4 c. chopped walnuts
3/4 c. chopped peeled apple

GLAZE:
1 c. confectioners' sugar
4 tsp. milk

Directions:
In a large mixing bow, cream butter and sugar. Stir in jam. Combine the flour, baking soda and spices; beat into creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Add the raisins, walnuts, and apple; mix well. Pour into a greased and floured 10-in. fluted tube pan.
Bake at 350º for one hour or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack to cool completely. Combine glaze ingredients and drizzle over cake.
