1 lb. butter
2 2/3 c. sugar
3 1/2 c. flour
8 medium eggs
12-15 tbsp. half-n-half
1 tbsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Separate eggs. Beat whites until stiff, then refrigerate. Beat 2/3 c. sugar into egg whites (this is from the amount of sugar listed) leave refrigerated. Cream butter and rest of sugar, add egg yolks two at a time on high speed, lower speed and add cream and flour alternatively, add vanilla, fold in egg white/sugar combo. Pour into a greased and floured Bundt pan and bake 1 1/2 to 2 hours at 300º.

This is an old time recipe from Aunt Thelma Stockton. A well-known cook and confectioner in Monroe County, MS. This recipe was guarded more highly than the gold at Fort Knox. The recipe for the Caramel Icing is to follow.
