1 c. shortening
1 c. margarine or butter
1 c. shite sugar
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
4 c. flour
12 oz. package chocolate chips
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, margarine and sugar. Mix in eggs and vanilla. Mix tgoether dry ingredients and slowly stir into mixture. Add chocolate chips last.

Chill dough for several hours. Roll dough in balls. Dip the top of each ball in sugar. Flatten slightly wiht the buttom of a drinking glass. Bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet for 13-15 minutes. They spread.

These are delicious when they are hot out of the oven. They are also delicious when frozen while fresh.
