1 1/2 cups Flour, divided
1 tsp.Baking Powder
1 tsp. Salt
1 1/2 cups Brown Sugar, packed
1 stick Melted Butter
4 beaten Eggs
2 cups Coarse Chopped Pitted Dates
2 cups Chopped Pecans
1 tsp. Vanilla
Powdered Sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dates and pecans in a bowl and mix with 1/2 cup flour. Combine remaining flour with baking powder, sugar and salt and mix well. Combine the beaten eggs with melted butter in a separate bowl. Mix all together and turn into a greased large toast pan. Bake in a 350 F oven for 25 minutes. Cut into bars while still warm and sift lightly with powdered surgar on top.

I found this recipe, ingredients only, in a bedside stand drawer by her bed after she was gone. Therefore I'm saying it was hers; because they sure taste like hers. The directions are mine but I'll bet they are real close to hers. I found out the hard way that you don't want to use the chopped dates you can buy. Buy the whole pitted date and coarse chop them.
