1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup molasses
1 tbsp. soda dissolved
pinch salt
in 1/2 cup hot wter
1/2 tsp. cinnaman
4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together well shortening, sugar, molasses and eggs. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Chill. Form into small balls and roll in granulated sugar. Press down with the bottom of a glass which has been dipped in sugar. Bake at 350˚ for 15 minutes.
