(1) Cup Scalded Milk
(1) Cup Water
(1) Pkg. Yeast
(1) Egg
(1) 1/2 Tsp. Salt
(6) Tbsp. Sugar
(1/4) Cup Melted Shortening or butter
(6) Cups Flour

Prune Filling - You can use Apples, Apricots or whatever:

(1) Lb. Prunes
(2) Cups Water
(1/4) Cup Sugar
(1/4) Tsp. All Spice
(2) Tbsp. Lemon Juice

For Kolacky's:

Cool the milk to lukewarm. Add water and yeast. When yeast is dissolved, add the egg,sugar,salt,melted shortening/butter and (5) cups of flour. Save (1) cup for kneading. Knead dough until smooth and elastic. Let rise until double in bulk(size). Roll dough and cut into small squares. Place a spoonfull of Prune Filling(or your favorite) in the center of each square and fold all four corners to the center and pinch together. Let rise and bake at 350 degrees until brown.

Filling instructions:

Cook prunes until tender in water mixture. Cool and pit. Return to water and mix until smooth. Note: Lot easier to buy prune, raspberry or other filling already cooked.
