1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/3 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/4 tsp extract flavoring of choice
A few drops of food coloring
Directions:
Directions:
Combine corn syrup, water, and sugar in heavy saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Boil without stirring until mixture reaches hard-crack stage or until a small amount dropped in ice water forms a hard thread or droplet. Be careful not to let mixture burn. Remove from heat and add flavoring and food coloring, stir quickly, but well. Carefully pour into buttered cookie sheet with low sides. Allow to cool completely and break into pieces. Store in air-tight containers or zip-top sandwich bags.
