5 cups self rising flour
2 pkg dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
3 tablespoon sugar
3/4 cup Crisco
2 cups buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in the 1/2 cup warm water. Add sugar. Sift dry ingredients twice in large bowl; cut in crisco, add buttermilk and yeast mixture. Work dough only until well moistened. Cover and refrigerate. Can use as needed; will keep in refrigerator for a week to 10 days. Roll and cut biscuits; bake 12 - 15 mins. or until golden brown at 425º.

You can half this recipe and it works well. Mama (Dessie Vantrease) kept this recipe made for company who might pop in. Good hot biscuits.
