COMBINE:
3 C all-purpose flour
2 T sugar
1 T plus 1 1/2 TSR baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
3/4 tsp cream of tartar
3/4 tsp salt

3/4 C shortening, cut into above mixture till mixture resembles coarse meal.

1 beaten egg
3/4 C milk


Directions:
Directions:
Combine egg & milk & add to flour mixture, stirring until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn onto a lightly floured surface. Knead 8 or 10 times.

Roll to 3/4 to 1 inch thick. Use round cutter & cut into biscuits. Bake at 450º till golden brown.
