1 whole chicken
1 onion-chopped
1 T. salt
1 tsp. pepper
2 cups sliced carrot
1 cup sliced celery
1 cup milk
1/4 cup flour
2 T. margarine
additional 2/3 cup milk
2 cups of Bisquick

Directions:
Directions:
1) Put chicken, onion, salt and pepper into 8 cups of water. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.
2) Add carrots and celery to pot about 15 mins before chicken is done simmering.
3) Remove chicken, let cool, remove bones and dice.
4) Add milk and margarine to broth with flour mixed into the milk, simmer and stir until thick and bubbly. Return chicken to the pot.
5) Mix Bisquick and 2/3 cup of milk. Drop by spoonfuls onto boiling gravy and reduce heat to simmering.
6) Cook dumplings uncovered 10 minutes, then cover and cook additional 10 minutes. Are done when toothpick inserted into dumpling comes out clean.
