4 qts. strong coffee
1 qt. half and half
5 T. sugar
5 tsp. vanilla
2 qts. vanilla ice cream (or ice milk)

Directions:
Directions:
The day or night before, make and chill the coffee and add the vanilla to it.
Just before serving, whip the cream, adding the sugar gradually.
Spoon or slice chunks of ice cream into a chilled* punch bowl.
Add the whipped cream. Pour the cold coffee over it and stir gently.

*Be sure to either chill the punch bowl or rinse it well in cold water before putting ice cream into it, so the bowl won't crack.
