1 qt. white cider vinegar
1 scant c. salt
3 qts. water
cucumbers
dill seed
garlic bulbs
alum

Boil together vinegar, salt and water. Place fresh cucumbers in sterilized jars. Add to EACH jar:
1 t. dill seed plus a stalk or two
1-2 cloves garlic
1/4 t. alum
