3 slices of bacon
2 medium onions
1 - 2 pounds hamburger
1 can tomatoes
1 can kidney beans
couple stalks celery
2 tbls chili powder
salt, pepper, to taste
pinch of cayenne, to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Fry bacon and onions together. Fry ground beef. Chop remaining ingredients, put all ingredients into large pot and simmer for 2 to 3 hours. Taste and add additional spice to taste.

When I first knew Don, he and I were having a Hallowe'en party. Grandma offered to make chili, which she did, and sent it in to the city to the party. It was wonderful, and I wrote out the recipe just as she told it to me after the party.
