1/2 cup chopped onion
2 Tablespoons shortening
1/4 lb. ground pork
1 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
3/4 cup milk
1 egg, beaten
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
3 tablespoons flour
1 can cream of mushroom soup (cream of celery or cream of chicken will also work fine)
1 soup can of water
1 tsp. pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion in shortening until soft. Combine meat and bread crumbs, milk, eggs, and spices. Shape mixture into balls and brown in shortening. Remove from skillet. Add flour, soup and water. Add meatballs and cook until done.
