Ingredients: 1 lb. Hamm's Fifteen Bean Soup Mix, dry 4 qt. water 1 cup celery, diced medium 1 cup onion, diced medium 1 cup carrots, diced medium 1 cup potatoes, diced medium 1/2 cup turkey ham, diced medium 1 1/2 tbsp chicken bouillon granules 1 1/2 tbsp beef bouillon granules 1 tbsp onion powder 1 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp ground cloves 1/2 tsp ground fennel 1/4 tsp white pepper 1 bay leaf 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce 2 cup tomato sauce 1/2 tsp Tabasco sauce 2 tbsp fresh chopped parsley If needed as a thickener, mix together: 3 tbsp cornstarch 1/2 cup water

Directions:Discard seasoning packet that accompanies the beans. Wash beans thoroughly, Cover with cold water. Add 1/2 tsp baking soda; stir, and soak beans overnight. Drain. Add 4 qts fresh water. Bring beans to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer. Simmer beans for 1 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally. In a large skillet coated lightly with a nonstick vegetable spray, combine vegetables and turkey ham. Saute over medium heat until vegetables are tender. Take 1 cup liquid off the top of beans, add liquid all at once to vegetables and turkey ham. Stir well. Transfer vegetables and turkey ham to beans. Add remaining ingredients. Blend well. Simmer an additional 30 mins, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and serve |
