Ingredients:

3 Cups whole wheat
1 Cup flour
1-1/2 Teaspoons salt
1 Teaspoon baking soda
3/4 Teaspoon baking powder
1-1/2 – 2 Cups buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix all dry ingredients thoroughly. Make a well in the center and gradually mix in just enough buttermilk to make soft but firm dough. Shape the dough into a ball. Knead on a floured surface for 2 –3 minutes until dough is smooth. Form into a round loaf and with floured knife make a cross through the center of the dough. Place in a well buttered cake pan or on a baking sheet. Bake for 35 – 40 minutes or until nicely browned. If bread sounds hollow when rapped on the bottom with knuckles, it is baked. Let cool before slicing.
