3 Cups flour, sifted
1 Teaspoon baking powder
1 Teaspoon salt
1 Teaspoon baking soda
3/4 Teaspoon nutmeg
3/4 Teaspoon ginger
1/2 Teaspoon cinnamon
2 Large eggs
1 Cup brown sugar, packed
1-1/2 Butter, melted and cooled
1/2 Cup dark molasses
1 Cup walnuts, chopped
1-1/4 Cups milk
1 Teaspoon vinegar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift together the first 7 ingredients; set aside. In large mixing bowl, beat eggs until light and fluffy. Gradually beat in brown sugar until mixture begins to thicken. Stir in melted butter, molasses and nuts. Combine milk and vinegar; stir. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, mixing only enough to blend ingredients. Pour into two well greased, lightly floured bread pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until edges are lightly browned. If making muffins, bake for 25 30 minutes. Cool in pans on rack for 10 minutes. Turn out and cool completely.
