Contents of the King Cake Mix
2 packets yeast
1 tsp salt
2 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp butter
1 egg
3/4 cup milk plus 2 Tbsp water
1/2 tsp sweet dough flavor


Glaze
Contents of glaze mix
1 1/2 to 2 Tbsp milk or cream

Directions:
Directions:
Dough: Combine all dough ingredients and the mix and knead together. Allow dough to rise in a lightly greased covered bowl for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Should become puffy.

Transfer to work surface and divide it into 16 pieces. Round each piece into a ball and place balls into a 12x12 in or similar pan. They will be quite close together. Cover the pan and allow to rise for two hours.

Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes until light golden grown. Remove from pan and cool completely on wire rack.

Glaze
Combine the glaze mix and milk or cream to make a tick icing. Using a pastry bag pipe icing i an x atop each bun and allow icing to harden, then store in airtight container until ready to serve.
