For 1 pound loaf

1 Tbsp vanilla extract
1 large egg
1/2 cup warm water
1/3 cup vanilla yogurt
1 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp instant dry milk
1 Tbsp sugar
3/4 tsp salt
2 cups bread flour
3 Tbsp slivered almonds, toasted
1-1/4 Tsp Bread machine yeast

Frosting if desired

Combine 1 cup sifted powdered sugar, 1 to 2 Tbsp milk and 1 tsp vanilla extract.

Break egg into transparent liquid ingredient measuring cup. Add water to measure 1/2 cup. Add vanilla extract. Add ingredients and knead until smooth.

Let rise until doubled.

Add enough flour to make soft dough. Divide into three equal pieces. Roll each piece to 12 inch rope. Braid three ropes together. Pinch ends to seal. Cover and let rise until double about 30 to 45 minutes.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until done. May frost with vanilla icing.
