"The tradition of Italian cooking is that of the matriarch. This is the cooking of grandma. She didn't waste time thinking too much about the celery. She got the best celery she could and then she dealt with it."--Mario Batali

Ingredients:
1/4 cup of soy sauce
2 Tbs. brown sugar
2 (5 oz) cans water chestnuts, drained
bacon slices

Directions:
Directions:
Cut bacon slices in thirds and wrap around water chestnuts, secure with round tooth pick.Place these in a zip lock bag and be careful not to punch holes with the toothpicks. Pour the marinade in the bag-zip-place in a plate( in case the bag leaks) and put in refrigator. I usually make these up the night before I want to use them, so I marinate them over night. Take them out of bag and line them up in foil broiler pans--they are cheap at the Dollar Store and your can trash them after you cook.Cook for 35--45 minutes at 350 degrees. They are great but be careful they really get hot.
