2 Cups Sifted Self Rising Flour (Gold Medal)
3/4 Cup Crisco Shortening
1-11/2 Cups Buttermilk
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 tsp Cream of Tartar
1 tsp Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425. Blend Dry Ingredients. Add Crisco and Blend until the consistency of cornmeal. Add Buttermilk until soft dough. Sprinkle dough with dry flour enough to touch with fingers. Spoon a large ballin palm of floured hand and roll into soft ball. Place into well greased iron skillet (southern seasoned). Press each ball of soft dough flat to desired thickness. Place skillet into preheated oven and bake until golden brown. Remove and cover with melted butter.
