Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water; stir in Bisquick, egg and 1 tablespoon sugar. Turn dough on surface dusted with more Bisquick. Knead 20 strokes and place on a greased cookie sheet and roll to a 14x9 rectangle. Make 3-inch long cuts at 1-inch intervals down both sides and spoon following down middle of pastry. Mix soft cream cheese, 1/2 cup sugar and lemon juice. Once cream cheese mixture has been spread, fold the 3-inch cuts of dough over the top in a lattice or braid pattern. Chill in refrigerator overnight. Next morning, let come to room temperature. Bake at 350º 15 or 20 minutes, remove from oven, spoon preserved down center of loaf, return to oven for 5 more minutes. Cool 10 minutes. Serve warm.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Aunt Teresa began making this pastry in the late 1980's. It quickly became a family favorite. After a few years we discussed the possibility of introducing a new type of pastry. Debbie Wells told her she could not do that because it would not be Christmas Brunch without the pastry. Everyone in the family agreed with Debbie, and this pastry has become the hallmark of our Brunch!
