2 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 sticks butter
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking soda, dissolved in
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 cup nuts
2 eggs
1 cup mashed bananas

Icing:
1 stick butter
4 tablespoons milk
1/2 cup mashed bananas
1 box powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup nuts

Directions:

Cake:
Mix together flour, sugar and brown sugar. In saucepan bring butter and water to a boil. Pour over flour mixture and mix thoroughly. Add remaining ingredients; put in greased jelly roll pan. Bake at 400º for 20 minutes.

Icing:
Bring first 3 ingredients to a boil. Add remaining ingredients. Pour over warm, not hot, cake.
This cake gets better the longer it sets.
