heavy cream
bacon, cooked and chopped
onion, chopped
red bell pepper, chopped
garlic, minced
half & half
chopped fresh basil
cheddar cheese
salt & pepper

Make however much grits you will need using half water and half heavy cream. Cook some bacon until crisp, chop and set aside Saute chopped onions, red bell pepper, minced garlic and green onions in grease until tender. Make a roux and add some half and half to make a gravy. Add some fresh basil, cheddar cheese and salt and pepper to taste. Add shrimp and bacon, cook a few minutes until shrimp are done. Serve the shrimp gravy over grits.
