Mom's Rhubarb Torte Recipe

CRUST: 1 c. butter
2 c. flour
2 T. sugar
Press in pan for crust, bake for 15 minutes. Cool
CUSTARD: 6 egg yolks (save whites)
2 c. sugar
1 c. milk
1/2 t. salt
6 c. rhubarb, chopped
MERINGUE: 6 egg whites
12 T. sugar
1/2 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
Beat meringue ingredients until stiff. Pour over custard and brown, about 15 minutes.

Mix custard ingredients together and pour onto crust. Bake 50 minutes or until custard thickens and a knife inserted comes out clean.
