1 pkg of split green peas
ham bone (makes it more flavorful)
2/3 c. onion
1/4 c. cut up carrot
1/2 c. of celery
1 clove garlic
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
sprinkle of pepper
2 chicken bullion cubes
3 cups of water or 2 cans of chicken broth
1 cup slivered cooked ham or use the ham from the bone

Directions:
Directions:
Combine peas and 1 quart water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, covered 45 min. Add more water if necessary. Add ham bone and rest of ingredients. Simmer covered for 1 1/2 hrs. Add the slivered ham toward the end of cooking.
