3 large eggs lightly beaten
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tbsp. light brown sugar
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/4 c. butter
2 3/4 c. whipping cream
4 c. cubed french or raisin bread

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º. Combine eggs, sugar, brown sugar, and nutmeg. Stir in butter and cream. Gently fold in bread. Pour in greased 2 quarts baking dish. Bake for 50 - 55 minutes. Shield with foil after 30 minutes to prevent too much browning. Serve with vanilla sauce.

Vanilla Sauce: 1/2 c. sugar, 3 tbsp. brown sugar, 1 tbsp. flour, dash of nutmeg, 1 egg, 2 tbsp. butter, 1 1/4 c. whipping cream, 1 tsp. vanilla

Whisk first 7 ingredients together in a heavy pan- cook over medium heat. Whisk constantly until thick. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Serve warm or room temperature.
