Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 (6-ounce) bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
16 ounces Hershey milk chocolate
1/4 cup water
6 egg yolks, beaten
2 cups chopped nuts
6 egg whites, beaten stiff
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 large angel food cake, pulled apart in small pieces
12 ounces Cool Whip or 1 pint whipping cream, whipped
Maraschino cherries

Directions:
Directions:
In double boiler melt the chips, candy bars and water. Fold in egg yolks. Beat egg whites and add sugar and vanilla to stiff egg whites. When chocolate mixture has cooled, a few minutes, fold in egg whites. In 9-x13-inch pan make alternate layers of cake and chocolate, 2 layers each. Top with whipped cream, or Cool Whip and chill. This cake does well if chilled for 24 hours. Cut into squares and top with cherry.

Personal Notes:
This dessert gets its name because it is black and white with a cherry on top, just like a police car. Our dear family friend and mother to Ginger's BFF in high school, Cindy, gave us this delightful dessert. Thanks, Pat Gibson.
