6 slices bread,
butter or margarine
1 lb. bulk pork sausage
1-1/2 c. shredded longhorn cheese
6 eggs, beaten
2 cups half and half (I use slightly less plain milk)
1 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Remove crusts from bread, if wish, and spread slices with butter. Place in greased 13 x 9 x 2 baking dish and set aside. Cook sausage until browned, stirring to crumble, drain well. Spoon
over bread slices, sprinkle with cheese. Combine eggs, half and half or milk,and salt. Mix well and pour over cheese. Cover casserole and chill overnight. Remove from refrigerator 15 min. before baking. Bake casserole at 350 degrees (uncovered) until set.
