1/2 bushel ripe tomatoes
6 tsp. coarse salt
water

Directions:
Directions:
Blanch tomatoes in boiling water, then place in container of iced water to loosen skins. Peel and core tomatoes. Place in sterilized one-quart jars. Add one-half teaspoon salt to each jar and fill jar to about one-half inch from top with hot water. Seal jars and place in canner with cold water (room temperature.) Bring water to boil and process for 30 minutes. Makes about 12 quarts.
